Protesting Ford at the Detroit Auto Show

DC Action Lab worked with Public Citizen, Sierra Club, Safe Climate Campaign, and more on a creative protest of automaker Ford outside of the Detroit Auto Show in January 2019. Ford lobbied President Trump to roll back vehicle fuel economy and greenhouse gas emissions standards, known as the clean car standards.

The visual we helped create was of a 10-foot inflatable Tyrannosaurus Rex along with activists in T-rex costumes. The annual climate pollution emitted by Ford’s Expedition SUV, 9 tons, is the same as the weight of a Tyrannosaurus rex. The visual was impossible to miss as Auto Show attendees entered the Cobo Center.
